"Indian Society too Mature to Fall Prey to Terrorists" — CIM
London, 14 April, 2006: British Indian Muslims have deplored the twin blasts, injuring 13 people in Delhi’s historic Jama Masjid as, “The work of devilish forces that are bent upon destroying the social fabric of the country and hampering country’s progress.”
In a statement issued today, the Chairman of Council of Indian Muslims — UK (CIM), Munaf Zeena said, “By repeatedly trying and failing in creating inter-communal tension by their dastardly crimes, terrorists must now learn that Indian society is too mature to fall in their trap and failure and disappointment is their destiny.
“This is the time when Indians must wake up to the reality that the fact is that be it the Bharatiya Janata Party, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Lashkar-e-Tayba or any other terror group, to them nothing, including human life, is sacred and they have their own religion and that religion is based on the philosophy of taking advantage from others’ grief.” Zeena added.
Attacking BJP leader L. K. Advani’s statement, Zeena said, “If the cowardly blasts in Benaras were the result of what Mr Advani calls Indian Government’s ‘appeasement of Muslims’ how will he explain to the nation the attack on Jama Masjid?”
Zeena added, “One wonders what are the intelligence agencies doing. No real perpetrator of any previous terrorist attack on places of worship or government buildings has been arrested. Soon after each incident the only news one gets is the killing of a alleged terrorist in a police encounter. Should it not be their preference to arrest these ‘terrorists’ alive and find out their about their bases and backers? ”
