Muslims welcome Liberahan Babri Masjid report, want govt to take action
All India Milli Council PRESS STATEMENT
New Delhi June 30: All India Milli Council has
welcomed the submission of the Liberahan Commission Report on the
destruction of the historic Babri Masjid at Ayodhya.
Council general secretary Dr Mohammad Manzoor Alam said in a press
release, "Even though the commission report has come after a long wait of
17 years, better late than never."
Dr Alam said the high-profile people involved in the attack on the
Constitution of India and the murder of thousands of Indians were
benefited by the delay. Mr. Narasimha Rao is already dead, much before the
commission filed its report, others too may follow suit before any legal
proceedings could really take hold", he added.
If the government really wants justice to prevail, it should immediately
bring the report in public domain by putting it before Parliament, Dr Alam
said.
Dr. Alam said that now that the Liberahan Commission Report has been
submitted government should act quickly to hand over the case to a
fast-track court to ensure speedy justice.
Showing the urgency of the situation Dr Alam said, "If we want the rule of
law to prevail, we must lose no time in making the law take its course",
he said.
