AFMI's Gujarat Floods Relief Appeal
July 04, 2005: In the wake of the massive devastation caused by floods in the state of Gujarat AFMI is appealing everyone to contribute to its relief efforts. According to latest official reports the death-toll has crossed 130. Thousands of people have been rendered homeless and without any effective cover in the worst hit areas of Kheda, Anand, Nadiad and pockets of Ahmedabad rural and Vadodara districts. More heavy rains are expected in the coming days.
The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI), as it has always been its practice, is in the forefront of carrying out relief work in the affected areas. 800 devastated families are being fed daily in Vadodara district by AFMI. In order to expand our relief effort to other devastated areas, AFMI is in urgent need of your generous donations. Please contribute generously. All your donations are tax-deductible.
