Muslim Parliament on the deportation of
foreign nationals by UK
11 August 2005: Dr Ghayasuddin Siddiqui, Leader of the Muslim Parliament of Great Britain, has said that the ten foreign nationals detained for “threat to national security”
should be charged and tried in the UK rather than deported to their countries of origin for an uncertain fate. He added that justice requires due process to determine their guilt or innocence of the parties concerned and help eliminate the threat of extremism to our society. Dr Siddiqui further added that one cannot preclude the possibility that one reason for their deportations might be to conceal the involvement of British Intelligence services in salafist / extremist activates, going back to the ambiguous role of the same services during the Soviet occupation of Afghanistan, when the link between western intelligence and extremism was forged.
