Darul Umoor at Srirangapattan is a materialisation of the dreams of Tipu Sultan as it fulfills his aspirations of advancement of learning where, rising above superficial talk and artificial divisions of old and modern, children are imparted religious and modern education. Darul Umoor aims at creating the ulama who, Insha Allah, will be the leaders of future.
Before starting this course, authorities of the institution visited important centres of religious and modern education in India and abroad. After studying educational syllabi and systems, they compiled a syllabi in consultation with religious leaders including Maulana Sayyid Abul Hasan Ali Nadwi, Qazi Mujahidul Islam Qasmi, Maulana Marghoobur Rahman, Maulana Syyid Rabey Hasani Nadwi, Maulana Abdul Karim Parekh Nagpuri and Maulana Sayyid Salman Nadwi.
It is a fact that in this progressive age, for preaching religion in an effective way it is essential to be familiar with means and resources which can be useful in this field. Therefore an important objective of this institution is that students of
Islamic madrasas (who will be future leaders of the community and nation) along with religious and Islamic knowledge should also be familiarised with information technology, management, comparative study of religions, history, science and other modern subjects so that they are be capable to solve social, economic, political, national and other problems of the community and nation from religious and Islamic points of view and prove themselves to be true leaders of the Millat.
Three batches of this institution have completed their courses and the fourth batch is nearing completion. Many products of this institution are rendering their services in different parts and fields of the country.
