Three full free ships for Minority Students in PG Diploma in Broadcast Journalism.

Duration: two years full time

Eligibility: Graduation Degree from a reputed university 

Admission process: Submission of a 1000 word essay and interview. 

Course aim: The rapid proliferation of satellite TV, private channels and news media has created an unprecedented demand for skilled reporters, anchors, writers, news editors, camera person, producers, etc. The course is designed to equip the students with professional journalistic skills for joining this ever expanding universe of TV industry. Through the illustrated classroom lectures, practical exercises in the form of studio productions and news simulations and workshops with media professionals, the students would learn to write, report, anchor, shoot and edit their own programmes. They would also get a hands on training of lighting, equipments, sound recording, etc. The core objective of the course would be to teach the methods of objective news reporting and to demystify news and its status as a saleable commodity. The course would lay stress on the need to use news as an agent of political critique. The students would also get an opportunity to get exposed to limitations and
potentials of news in shaping the social changes.

1. History and theories of Television and TV journalism
2. Theories of mass communication, development communication and science communication
3. Television genres and formats, TV stations and news organizations
4. Introduction to broadcast equipment; camera, editing tables, etc.
5. Introduction to studio procedures
6. News and other productions in multi-camera set up 
7. Studio lighting
8. Understanding news; news writing, and reporting for TV
9. Issues in current affairs; Indian and global
10. News and new media, web journalism and advertising

Admission Schedule:
Last Date for sending the application form to Anhad, 4, Windsor Place, New Delhi-110001- October 8, 2005
Commencement of classes: October 15, 2005
