Kashmir's Earthquake Relief Fund
Milli Gazette Online
Both sides of Kashmir have been hit by
the severest earthquake in recent history. Never after 1885 has this area
seen an earthquake of this intensity. According to unofficial figures, the
final death toll on both sides of the border may cross two hundred
thousand. Whole towns and villages have been flattened. Hundreds of
thousands of people are spending their days and nights under the sky,
some have been provided tents by the authorities. Tents and food supplies
are urgently needed. Apart from government relief, popular help has
to be provided in order to reach all segments and areas. One such
organisation is "Greater Kashmir Welfare Trust"

Park, Srinagar, J&K - www.greaterkashmir.com)
published from Srinagar. It is is registered vide no. CIT/IMC/TECH/05-06/2320-

is making an urgent donation of Rs 35,000 to this fund as its first contribution. Well-wishers may make their donations directly to the GKWT or to Charity Alliance which will pass it on to GKWT or other trustworthy NGOs working there for relief and rehabilitation of the earthquake victims in J&K.
