Bahraich (UP): Communal riots erupted in Boori town of Bahraich district of UP on 15 October because of election rivalry. When the situation became alarming, authorities ordered shooting the mischief mongers at sight.
According to district officer, Anurag Shrivastav, the rumour about abduction of the former Mukhia of Jeetapur led to eruption of communal riots. He said that when the situation appeared to be going out of control, shoot at sight order was issued and the Thana incharge, Lomni, was suspended for failing to bring the situation under control.
