51 crores! How about a varsity instead of Cartoonist's Head?
Milli Gazette Online
Rs. 51 CRORES FOR DANISH CARTOONIST'S HEAD
While extending my full support to the ongoing spontaneous reactions in the form of peaceful demonstrations against the most blasphemous display of Prophet
Mohammad's (PBUH) cartoons in Danish and other European newspapers, I strongly condemn the irresponsible utterances like the one made by the
UP (India) Minister of State for Haj and Minorities Welfare, Haji Yaqoob Qureishi whereby he offered the reward of
Rs 51 Crores for the head of the Danish cartoonist.
Such unsavoury developments indicate that those who otherwise are nobody in the Muslim community are seeking to become somebody through their political brinkmanship, so as to effectively play with the outrageous sentiments of the common Muslim masses. Needless to say that it is the same Haji Yaqoob Qureish, who did not have in his conscience the basic
fundamentals of Islam, while sitting at the feet of the former UP Chief Minister, Mayawati, and feeling pride in saying 'JAI BHEEM'. Astonishingly the same person has now become such a great champion of Islam and Prophet (PBUH) that he is offering whopping amount of
Fifty One Crores for the head of Danish cartoonist.
I appeal to the UP Chief Minister, Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav to immediately remove Mr. Qureishi from the Cabinet and lodge criminal proceedings against him (Mr.
Qureishi) for inciting violence. Now, as the controversy is having all the potential to be exploited by disgruntled elements of the community for their own parochial interest, it is the high time, the saner
intelligentsia and Ulema must come forward to checkmate these ugly distractions.
I appeal to Mr. Qureish to kindly hand over this amount to me, if he really has plundered his Ministry to that extent, so that I may
fulfill my ardent wish to establish a high level University for the educational upliftment of the community in UP.
