Citizens of Gujarat condemn Violence in Baroda
PRESS RELEASE,
CONCERNED CITIZENS OF GUJARAT
The
Milli Gazette Online
May 3, 2006
We the concerned citizens of Gujarat are once again shocked at the current happenings in Baroda, in the wake of the demolition of the Chishti Rashid-ud-Din Dargah.
We condemn the heinous acts by sections of the population, causing loss to life and property. We also condemn the police inaction and thereby their complicity in these events. All those responsible for taking law and order into their own hands should be brought to book immediately very specially those from the VHP and other fundamentalist groups.
The Government has to solely accept the responsibility of what is happening. The army has to be called immediately, to prevent further loss to life and property.
The Gujarat Government has once again failed in its responsibility of ensuring security to the minorities and the protection of their lives and property.
We urge the Central Government, the Media and all peace loving citizens of this State and throughout the country to intervene immediately so that a repeat of the Gujarat Carnage of 2002 does not take place.
