Vadodara Conflagration: Centre Must Move Quickly
PRESS STATEMENT
The
Milli Gazette Online
With the Muslim community of
Gujarat still reeling under the most horrifying nightmarish experiences of the the worst sort of state-sponsored carnage against them three years back, they are once again standing on the brink of confronting similar atrocities, as the Vadodara communal conflagration is not showing the signs of dying down.
What is more worrying is the fact that the same bureaucratic and police set-up under the leadership of the same Chief Minister Narendra Modi are at the helm of affairs, whose barbarities against Muslims are well known to the entire world. Under these circumstances, when
Gujarat Administration has lost its credentials in the sight of the entire moral and secular majority of the
country, it is the historic responsibility of the Congress-led Central government , not to leave anything to chance under the fictitious notion of 'state autonomy' and move quickly so that the past is not repeated, and the communal elements, irrespective of their religious or caste affiliations, must be contained, dealth with strictly and punished expeditiously.
