Rice statement on Gitmo is highly condemnable
The
Milli Gazette Online
The statement by Condoleesa Rice claiming that "the suicides by two inmates of Guatanama Bay was a propaganda stunt" is not only objectionable but thoroughly condemnable. This adds insult to the injury, and this is exactly the kind of behaviour that is continuously increasing the hatred for the US government in the hearts of all the right minded people of the world; to feel outraged is of course natural for Muslims. Instead of announcing an immediate closure of the prison, the US government has chosen to dismiss the suicides as "political statements". Even if this is accepted as a political statement, the US government will better realise its seriousness and genuineness. The American Secretary of State has stated that these inmates care neither for others’ lives nor for their own. The truth is that the history including the most recent one proves beyond doubt that the successive American governments have cared only for the lives of Americans, and have shown scant disregard for the lives of others. Their actions and interventions in recent years have killed much greater number of people than the "terrorists" can ever boast of killing.
