Muslim Islamic NewsDemonstration on Babri demolition anniversary

Press Statement / Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (Salim Group)

The Milli Gazette

"On 14th Babri Masjid Shahadat Day, Delhi Unit of Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (Salim Group) organized a Dharna protest today at Jantar Mantar. A strong demand was raised on this occasion for reconstruction of Babri Masjid along with the demand to bring the communal leaders, involved in the conspiracy of demolition, to justice at the earliest. In this connection, UPís Mulayam Singh government was demanded to issue necessary notification to centralize as per Allahabad High Courtís directions the two cases filed under FIR 197 and 198 and being heard separately at CBIís Lucknow and Rae Barely courts, so that the proceedings of Babri Masjid Demolition Conspiracy Case may be expedited and the culprits may be given real punishment for this most abominable crime in the history.

Apart from MMM general secretary, Ameeduzzaman Kairanvi, and Dr. Anwarul Islam, president, State Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (SMMM), others who addressed the participants of the Dharna on this occasion include Janab Abu Asim Azami, Maulana Fuzail Ahmad Qasmi, Maulana Ataur Rahman Qasimi, Janab Masoom Moradabadi, Advocate Wahid Hussein Janab Mohd. Yameen Chaudhary, Janab Abdul Hadi, Janab Haji Ikram, Chaudhary Shamsuddin, Jamab Advocate Mohsin Israily , Janab Jamil Ahmad and many other gentlemen. Along with Mushawaratís office-bearers, a large number of distinguished personalities of the city participated in this Dharna protest. Some of these prominent personages are: Janab Badrudduja Najmi, Janab Shah Faisal, Dr. Mohammad Fayyaz Qasimi, Janab Asad Ghazi etc.

Recalling this shiver inducing tragedy in the history of independent India, the office-bearers of the Mushawarat and other leaders sitting on Dharna said the conspiracy to demolish Babri Masjid was being hatched for a long time, for which Mr. Advani prepared the atmosphere of communal hatred through his Rath Yatra and ultimately, on December 6/ 1992, anti-social elements of RSS, Vishwa Hindu Parishad, Bajrang Dal and Shiv Sena demolished the mosque in presence of their top leaders, whereas effective support of UPís Kalyan Singh government and tacit concurrence of Congress government in the center, headed by Narsimha Rao, was involved in the conspiracy.

Highlighting recapitulated history of this tragedy, the office-bearers of Central MMM and SMMM as well as other leaders said that in spite of the passage of fourteen yearsí long span, nothing has been done for elimination of this oppression and doing justice with Muslims. On the other hand, communal forces are not only articulating their determination to build Ram Mandir at the very place of Babri Masjid but also annoying Muslims with their ever fresh devices. This is shameful that Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Bajrang Dal have announced to celebrate this day as Shaurya Diwas (Bravery Day), instead of observing a black day today. There is utmost need of stern action against the people taking such horrible steps.

Some gentlemen said on this occasion that Mr. Advaniís confession and expression of bashfulness in the parliament is utterly meaningless because, by expressing his proud for his association with Ram Mandir Movement at the same time, he appears standing among those who demolished Babri Masjid. Targetting the role played by erstwhile Congress government, they said Muslimsí wounds can not get healed by Congressí apology.

The speakers said this is call of justice that Babri Masjid land should be handed over to Muslims after finalizing the title deed case. Muslims are not ready to give up this rightful claim in any case. The Congress Party and the Government of India should substantiate their promise with Muslims by reconstructing Babri Masjid.

A delegation of MMM office-bearers and other dignitaries also presented a memorandum in this connection to Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh wherein the government is demanded to withdraw its application in the Supreme Court for constructing bullet-proof structure and, after finalizing the two cases related with the demolition of Babri Masjid, filed under FIR 197 and 198, being heard at two separate courts at the earliest possible, remove illegally placed idols from Babri Masjid site and reconstruct Babri Masjid on the site as promised by ex-prime minister Narsimha Rao."

Received from Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat (Salim Group) (aimmmushawarat@yahoo.com) on 7 December 2006.
