 Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz for upliftment of Indian Muslims

The Core Group of
Pasmanda Muslim Mahaz, an organization for the social, educational and economical upliftment of the downtrodden Muslims of India met at 194, North Avenue, New Delhi on 22.01.2007.At the end of the discussion, the following message was released by Mr. Ali Anwar, Member of Parliament:
"I, Ali Anwar, President of All India Pasmanda Muslims Mahaz and Member of Parliament of India, give a call to all Indian pasmanda
Muslims to assemble from each and every corner of the country in a grand panchayat of pasmanda
Muslims at Jantar Mantar on 10 th February, 2007 by 10 O'clock to persuade the Government of India by raising their collective voice for the implementation of Sachar Committee Report and certain other demands which include: 1. Dalit Muslims and Dalit Christians be included in the list of Scheduled Caste
(SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) and discrimination on the basis of religion be eliminated henceforth from Dalits. For this purpose, reservation percentage of SC/ST quota be enhanced. 2. Legal Protection be provided to sustain and preserve small scale industries and ancient home made crafts and to prevent them from the negative impact of
globalization. 3. Other Backward Classes
(OBC) list be split into two, one relating to backward and the other for very very backward on the pattern of Bihar State. 4.
Reservation for OBC of Muslim Minority be given in the Educational Institutions belonging to other minorities as well. 5.Census be carried out on the basis of casts and not just on the basis of model survey which in most of the cases does not reflect the ground reality.
