Siege: Protest against Israeli occupation
Sit-in at Jantar Mantar, near Parliament, New Delhi,
29 January 2008, 11 AM
A historic dharna (sit-in) is being organised tomorrow, Tuesday, 29 January 2008, 11 AM, at the Jantar Mantar in New Delhi by important Muslim organisations to condemn the inhuman and illegal siege of Gaza Strip by the Israeli occupation forces amid unprecedented world apathy.
The dharna will demand the immediate lifting of the illegal siege, intervention of the UN Security Council, big powers as well as all Muslim, Arab and concerned countries.
The dharna will also condemn the silence of the Indian Government and its failure to condemn this crime of collective punishment which has been termed by Prof Dugard, the United Nations’ representative in the Palestinian Occupied Territory as a “serious war crime” for he has called for the trial of the Israeli military and political leaders.
Important Muslim leaders, members of Parliament, leaders of secular political parties, human rights activists and concerned common people will take part in the dharna.
You are requested to attend this important event.
