announces XIX Convention to be in Ohio in October

American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin (AFMI)
plans to hold its XIX Convention in Cleveland, Ohio, on Oct. 3, 2009.
Confirmed speakers include Mr. Justice M.S.A. Siddiqui, Chairman, National
Commission for Minority Educational Institutions, Dr. Shabistan Ghaffar,
(Educationist & member NCMEI), and several other educationists, activists,
and community leaders from India as well as across USA. Invited speakers
include Mr. Salman Khursheed (Minister of Minority Affairs), Maulana
Badruddin Ajmal (Member of Parliament), Mr. Mahesh Bhatt (Filmmaker and
social activist), among others.
AFMI is a philanthropic charity organization founded by American Muslims
of Indian Origin in the year 1989. AFMI strives to improve the
socio-economic status of the underprivileged Indian Muslim minorities
through education. Since it was founded, AFMI has remained steadfast in
its mission to achieve 100% literacy amongst Indian Muslims.
