Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Condemns Israeli Attack
on Flotilla carrying Humanitarian aid and Peace Activists
New Delhi, 01 June 2010: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind has
strongly condemned the attack by Israeli forces on a flotilla in
international water carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza.
Maulana Syed Jalaluddin Umari, Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (President), in
his statement termed the attack as barbaric and inhuman. He said that
Israel by this act has showed that it neither respects international law
nor cares for world opinion.
The Flotilla, was carrying humanitarian aid to Gaza, which is under
relentless and inhuman siege for almost three years. Seven hundred human
rights activists, parliamentarians and many prominent personalities from
nearly 50 nationalities were on board when it was illegally attacked
killing 19 people and injuring nearly 30 people.
Ameer Jamaat demanded the government of India to strongly condemn this
barbaric attack and call upon Israel to immediately lift the inhuman Gaza
siege.
