Statement on the Israeli piracy in the
international waters
New Delhi, 1 June, 2010, Janab Mohammad Jafar, Acting
President of All India Muslim Majlis-e-Mushawarat has issued the following
statement;
‘The All India Muslim Majlis-e Mushawarat, the umbrella body of Indian
Muslim organisations, is outraged by the Israeli piracy and the
exceptionally unlawful behaviour of attacking a peaceful humanitarian
effort undertaken by hundreds of volunteers from all over the world who
were taking a flotilla of ships to deliver humanitarian aid to Gaza which
is blockaded by Israel in defiance of the world community as defined by
the United Nations Security Resolution No. 1860 and by the international
law under which the siege is illegal whether Gaza is an occupied terrority
as it factually is or if it is not an occupied area as Israel claims.
The AIMMM strongly condemns the Israeli lawlessless which has killed and
wounded dozens of innocence civilians and calls for its punishment by the
United Nations and other international organisations like the
International Court of Justice.
The AIMMM also calls for the immediate and unconditional lift of the
unlawful and unjust siege enforced by Israel on the small and impoverished
region of Gaza Strip for the last three years. The AIMMM also asks the
Indian government to play its active role to protect the people of
Palestine and to curtail its unethical relations and cooperation with the
outlaw state of Israel.’
