Hindu godmen promoting BJP

The Indian Express (20 March) has reported that Ravishankar, a Hindu godman, said in Delhi: ‘Lakshmi toh kamal pe baith ke aati hai’ (Lakshmi, the Hindu goddess of wealth, comes sitting on the Lotus). It was an oblique reference to BJP as the lotus is BJP’s electoral symbol. He was in Delhi to bless a BJP candidate who’s also a practitioner of Ravishankar’s outright spurious Sudarshan Kriya. Sooner or later, all these godmen and godwomen show their true political colours and Hindu bias.

Yet another joker Ramdev, who was a Yogacharya till yesterday, has become a spokesman of a Hindu party. These people are basically Hindu zealots who project themselves as babas and spiritual gurus.

A few years ago, The Asian Age newspaper categorically wrote about Ravishankar that he was a Hindu evangelist. He is a Hindu fundamentalist, who’s more rabid than an average Hindu fanatic. Why can’t these clowns limit themselves to their ‘spiritual activities’? They all have religio-political aspirations.
