Dalits homes burnt after they celebrated Holi

At a time when India is marching into the 21 century and Indians are aspiring to make India a developed country, nine houses of Dalit community were burnt at Kadampur village in Allahabad after they dared to celebrate Holi. Violence erupted when a nine year old Dalit boy threw coloured water on people belonging to Yadav community. In retaliation, Yadavs threw the boy into a canal but his father Arun Kumar saved him. More than 100 Yadavs surrounded the area and set Dalit houses on fire. According to Circle officer six Yadavs have been arrested and investigation is under way. Dalits have claimed that all the attackers are supporters of the local MLA and they are harassed frequently.
