M.P. govt on land squandering spree

Bhopal: Undaunted by the irregularities in allotting land to Kusha Bhau Thakre Trust in Bhopal; the state government has squandered 500 acres of government land to BJP Shishu Mandirs and 125 acres to Ambani. While 30 acres have been allotted to Chirayu Hospital, free of cost, 125 acres have been allotted to Dhiru Bhai Ambani Memorial Trust for a technical institute and BPO near Bhopal, at a throw away price. In about twenty districts the party offices have been given liberal grants of lands. Saraswati Shishu Mandirs and other institutes affiliated to Sangh have received liberal sanctions 41 acres have gone to shishu mandirs.

An interesting aspect of this bonanza is the fact that while the allotment copy in one case is in the office of the revenue minister; in all other cases even a formal ‘note sheet’ was not submitted to anyone for obtaining the sanction. The matter pertains to 2007-08 when Kamal Patel was the revenue minister. Anurag Modi, Samajvadi Jan Parishad, obtained these details through an RTI application and has brought the matter to the Governor’s knowledge. Chirayu Charitable Foundation and Hospital has two highly influential ministers as partners in addition to several prominent bureaucrats and other officers in various undertakings. Among the beneficiaries are trusts from other states – Nav Uday Charitable Trust (New Delhi) got free of cost 10.084 hectares whereas Ramkrishna Charitable Trust (New Delhi) received 15 acres. Amarjyoti Charitable Trust got 0.677 hectare. The prime beneficiary is Dhiru Bhai Ambani Memorial Trust – 125 acres.
