Assam looks towards Mamata and Ajmal

After parties in Assam finalised their candidates for the assembly elections the aspirants who were left out have now switched sides. Some known faces of the Congress and the AGP have now joined Trinamool and the AUDF. Syeda Anowara Taimur, ex-chief minister of the state has quit the Congress and joined the AUDF of Badruddin Ajmal. Bizit Saikia who was earlier Industry minister during Congress government in 1991-96 has filed his nomination for Tezpur on a Trinamool ticket. Abdul Muktadir Choudhary who was also minister in the Congress government during the same period has filed his papers for Hailakandi as an AUDF candidate.
