Advani not apologetic over Gujarat riots

L K Advani while replying to questions from leading journalist like N Ram of The Hindu, Uday Shankar, CEO Star India and Kumar Ketkar of Dainik Bhashkar at the ‘Face the Press’ programme on 28 March in Mumbai said that although the riots are a sad issue but there is no point in issuing an apology on that.

In his reply to a question on the apology made by the Congress for the 1984 anti Sikh riots Advani said that what took place in 1984 was not a riot but was a one sided affair and in Gujarat, Godhra happened first and then there was a reaction. On the question of demolition of Babri masjid he said that that it was not at all planned and what happened surprised all of us.
