One pot mutton Recipe

Pot ingredients:
1/2 kg mutton
1/2 cup oil/ghee, or more
3 pieces of cardamoms/chotti elaichi
1 tbsp cumin seeds/zeera
1 tbsp garlic paste
1 tbsp red chilli powder
1 1/2 tsp salt, or to taste
1/2 tbsp garam masala
1/2 tbsp black pepper powder
1/2 cup yogurt/dahi, whisked well
1/2 inch piece of raw papaya (grate it) (to be used only if you're in a hurry or are not using a pressure cooker)
Finishing ingredients:
2 large onions, chopped, fried till golden and ground
7-8 almonds, peeled and slit lengthwise
For garnishing Fresh, chopped coriander leaves (optional)

Heat the oil in a pressure cooker. Add the cardamoms first and then the cumin seeds and allow them to splutter. Add the meat and rest of the pot ingredients.
Mix well. Cover and cook for a whistle. Then turn the heat to low and cook for another 20 minutes.
In the mean time, put the whole almonds in a cup of water and bring to a boil. Turn the stove off and cover. Let cool or take the almonds out and carefully peel. cut length-wise.
After the timer on the cooker goes off, don't open the cooker just after you turn the flame off. Let the cooker cool down or pour cold tap water on it if you're short on time.
Add the ground onions, mix and transfer to a serving bowl and garish with almond flakes.
Serve hot with tandoori roti/sheermal or rice.
