Mosque closed in Bihar since Independence rehabilitated

Patna: President of All India Masjid Imams Council, Bihar Maulana Sajjad Nadwi and secretary, Maulana Muhammad Misbahuddin said in their joint statement before the press here on 3 April that Masjid Dhanot near Patna’s Phulwari Sharif which was abandoned after the Muslim population in the surrounding areas had left after 1947 communal riots and was lying closed and neglected ever since was rehabilitated by some people and started the process of azaan and namaz regularly.

Important persons among such people are Shahid Ali Khan, state’s minister for minorities welfare and Mansoor Alam, general secretary of Janta Dal (United) (JDU). Maulana Sajjad Nadwi said that these people deserve our congratulations because they liberated and rehabilitated the mosque after continuous and long struggle. He made an appeal to Muslims now living in the neighbouring areas of the mosque to regularly participate in namaz, particularly in Friday namaz.
