Security of Babri site costs billions

Billions of rupees have already been spent on the maintenance and security of the makeshift temple built on the site of the demolished Babri Masjid. According to sources, crores of rupees have been spent on barricading and wiring of the Ramjanmabhoomi-Babri Masjid disputed complex. Camping sites, monitoring tower and construction of barracks and houses for the security personnel have cost crores. Supply of round-the-clock electricity to the complex costs rupees three lakh a month. Besides, five generators have been purchased for constant electricity-supply.   A huge security force has been deployed and CCTVs have also been installed at the complex after the terrorist attack on 5 July 2006. A door with machine-control system costing lakhs of rupees has also been installed through which the devotees have to pass while going into the makeshift temple.
