Three officers shunted

Ahmedabad: Three senior Gujarat Police officers, whose names figured in the Mumbai-based girl Ishrat Jahan’s alleged staged killing case, were transferred on Tuesday, on the Gujarat high court’s orders to prevent them from influencing the investigation.

Additional Director General of Police P.P. Pandey has been shifted to CID (Crime) and Intelligence Bureau under him has been transferred to ADGP Shri Sudhir Sinha.

Superintendent of Police G.L. Singhal has been transferred to Vadodara as DySP zone - 1. DeputySuperintendent Tarun Barot has been shifted to Mehsana as DySP.

All these officers were with the Ahmedabad Crime Branch in 2004, when Ishrat and three others including a Pakistani were gunned down.
