Convocation function at Zakir Hussain College

New Delhi: The fourth convocation function of the Zakir Hussain College was held here on April 9. On this occasion 392 successful students of the year 2009 were given certificates by the chief guest. Haroon Yousuf, Delhi Government’s minister of energy, food and civil supplies and himself an alumnus of this college was the chief guest. He said in his speech that Zakir Hussain College is a brilliant example of the composite culture of the country. This institution is a fountainhead of tolerance, brotherhood, and higher values. He said that the future of the country is in the hands of younger generations. If the youth keep distance from the positive politics, entry of corrupt and criminal elements into power cannot be stopped. The need is not only that our youth support social activists, like Anna Hazare, but it is also necessary that they should hold processions in election times, so that half of our indifferent population, which stays at home at the time of voting, comes out and elects honest and sincere leaders. Otherwise, such corruption will go on. Dr Mohammad Aslam Parvaiz, Principal of the College, presented a memento to the chief guest on behalf of the college. In order to further strengthen the Old Boys Association, registration of alumni was also arranged.
