Goan Muslims welcome Ramadan by distributing food kits.

All Goa Muslim Educational & Social Welfare Society welcomed Ramadan by organising ‘Ramzan Kit’ distribution programme on 21 June at Posh English School, Navelim, Salcete, Goa.

President of All Goa Muslim, Mr. Ashraf Pandial welcomed the guests and briefly explained the various activities carried out by the Society for the benefit of the poor and needy in Goa. He said that the Society is looking for a suitable place in and around Margao to build a ‘Women’s Hospital’. He added, ‘Muslims have and are being used as vote banks by the politicians and there are very ‘few who really work for the community’. He praised Mr. Luizinho Faleiro for his contribution to the Muslim Community in Goa.

Former Chief Minister and the current Goa Congress President, Mr. Luizinho Faleiro wished people on the eve of start of Holy month of Ramadan. He said that it was during his tenure that the Qabrastan (graveyard) land was passed in the Assembly and all the process for acquiring it was processed but, once he was out, the file went missing from the Collectorate. He assured his full support in acquiring the allotted land at the earliest.  A total 170 food kits were distributed by the AGM committee.
