Winners in AMU Essay Competition

Aligarh: The Aligarh Muslim University announced on 8 October results of the 'All India Essay Writing Competition' which was organised to mark the 198th birth anniversary of its founder, Sir Syed Ahmad Khan. The topic of the essay was "In keeping with Sir Syed's vision of spread of modern scientific education, AMU is running 10 schools up to Senior Secondary level. How can we ensure a strong educational foundation at school level?"

With a cash prize of Rs 25,000, Alveera Siddiqui, a student of BA.LLB in AMU bagged the first prize while Kiruthika D. of School of Excellence in Law, Dr. Ambedkar Law University, Chennai, won the second place with a cash prize of Rs 15,000. Madeenathunnoor College of Islamic Science, Calicut, Kerala's  Noorudheen Musthafa came third with a prize of Rs 10,000.

Cash prizes worth Rs 5,000 have further been given to state toppers from colleges and universities all over the country. Chattisgarh's B. Alisha Jabeen, Andhra Pradesh's Ram Prasad Boda, Jammu and Kashmir's Shah Haseeb Raza, Uttar Pradesh's Abhishek Gupta, Gujarat's Vasu Jain, Uttrakhand's Varchasva Tiwari, Haryana's Mansi Gupta, Punjab's Rozy Matania, Maharashtra's Al Ameen J., Kerala's Ann Maria Sebastian, Karnataka's Muneer GVK, Jharkhand's Hemant Kumar, Tamil Nadu's EA Muhammed Javith, New Delhi's Pathan Sharifa Banu, Orrisa's SK Juned Jafri, Rajasthan's Shweta Singh, Bihar's Charu Nema, Assam's Desula Uma Maheshwara Rao, Madhya Pradesh's Kshitij Singh, Manipur's Md. Sadam Hussain, Chandigarh's Neha Tiwari, West Bengal's Shiba Khatoon and Telangana State's Vaibhav Kumar Chaudhary have been declared as the state toppers.     

The top three winners will be awarded prizes on 17th October at the Sir Syed Day Commemorative Meeting by the chief guest. A cheque for the prize money along with certificates will be sent to all state toppers at their respective addresses.
