AMP distributes scholarships

 Mumbai: Association of Muslim Professionals (AMP), a pan-India social welfare organisation, distributed scholarships worth ten lakh rupees to 100 students of higher and technical education for the 3rd consecutive year. Through the scholarship project AMP is trying to support financially needy students pursuing professional courses. This year AMP has provided support to students pursuing mainly Engineering and Medical Education. These scholarships are distributed to most deserving and meritorious students selected from the applications received from across India.

Since the beginning, AMP embarked upon  social and economic empowerment of the community and the society. It has given shape to this ambition in many ways.

The scholarship distribution for this year has been completed at a small function held in Mumbai which was attended by some well-known personalities from the social circle of Mumbai. Dr. M. A. Patankar (philanthropist), Principal Suhail Lokhandwala (ex-MLA), Shabbir Ansari (President, All India Muslim OBC Organisation), Javed Parekh (member, Ajmer Dargah Committee), Sanjay Naik (Vice President, MNS), Nizamuddin Rayeen (President, Mumbai Minority Congress) and Javed Juneja (Prabhag Samiti Adhyaksh, Mumbai Municipal Corporation) were special guests at this event.

Mr. Suhail Lokhandwala, former MLA and head of different social organizations in Mumbai, said in his presidential speech, “AMP has embarked upon a wonderful journey of community service. This is a great example in community service which should be replicated by other social welfare organizations as well.”  

In his Inaugural Speech, AMP President Aamir Edresy explained AMP projects and explained that AMP has a long list of projects which help in entire life-cycle of a students life. He announced that AMP is planning to expand the Scholarship to 500 Students next year InshaAllah.
