Anti-Muslim hysteria

The recent incident of discrimination against a Muslim woman in a US airline was yet another example of anti-Muslim bias reinforced by US Presidential candidate Donald Trump’s call for banning Muslims entr into the US.

The severity of the situation in India is indicated by the latest incident at the Mewar university in Rajasthan where four Kashmiri students were mercilessly beaten for allegedly eating “beef”. After a forensic test it was found to be goat meat.

Not just Kashmiri students, Muslims across the nation have become soft targets. Love Jihad, ghar wapsi and other such programmes target all Indian Muslims

On March 5, 2014 the Uttar Pradesh Police slapped sedition charges on Kashmiri students for cheering for the Pakistani cricket team. Swami Vivekananda Subharti University (SVSU) in Meerut suspended 65 students for three days. Later, the report was found to be untrue.  India has been acclamed across the globe for its adherence to democratic norms. Unfortunately, such anti-minorities behavior sullies the country’s image.
