Rain forces Hindu pilgrims to stay in mosque at Mahakumbh

Ujjain:   On the occasion of the second “Shahi” bath at Mahakumbh, in the pilgrim city of Ujjain, on 10 May, rain and high-speed dust-storm upset the programme of the pilgrims who had arrived here covering long distances. The winds uprooted trees and tents of the pilgrims, resulting in injuries to six people. According to the SP, Manohar Verma, three persons were injured by a falling tree.

Setting an example of mutual cooperation, the Hindu pilgrims were offered to stay at “green masjid”, situated at the Artillery Park. A number of Muslim volunteers were present there to make their stay comfortable.
