AIUTC’s plea to PM to raise retirement age of AYUSH docs

New Delhi: Following central government's decision to raise the retirement age of all allopath doctors in Central Health Service to 65 years, All India Unani Tibbi Congress (AIUTC) in a letter to prime minster Modi requested him to increase the retirement or superannuation age of Unani, Ayurvedic and Homeopathic doctors also. General secretary of AIUTC, Dr. (Hakeem) Syed Ahmad Khan urged the central government to do away with discrimination between allopath and other doctors and said that the government should not discriminate and deprive Indian medical doctors from this benefit (increase in retirement age) because they also are working in central government’s health services. Dr. Khan further said that Unani, Ayurved and Homeopath doctors also play an important role in the country’s health care system. It is estimated that about 4000 allopath doctors under Central Health Service will benefit from the increase in the age of superannuation to 65 years whereas hundres or may be thousands of other doctors will be deprived of this benefit unless the government agrees to AIUTC’s request.
