NDMC appoints widow of M M Khan as Education Officer

New Delhi: After the assassination of New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC)’s former legal officer, M. Moin Khan, the Council (NDMC) in its meeting held on 27 June decided to appoint his widow, Mrs. Nishat Khan as Assistant Social Education Officer in order to rehabilitate (late) Moin Khan’s surviving family. At the same time the NDMC also approved a proposal to allot her (Mrs. Nishat Khan) type-III house on a monthly rent of Rs. 500 and meeting full expenses of the education of her children. NDMC’s Vice Chairman Karan Singh Tanwar said that an amount of Rs. 35 lakh has been given by NDMC to (late) Moin Khan’s family. In addition to this amount, union home minister Raj Nath Singh also has given a cheque of Rs. 25 lakh to Mrs. Nishat Khan. Karan Singh Tanwar, while describing the assassination of Moin Khan as very sad, said that there were many employees in NDMC who died while in service and in case of death of its employees while in service in future, the proposal of giving relief to their families in the form of service to a member of their family and financial assistance has also been approved. It may be recalled that after Moin Khan’s assassination, Delhi chief minster Arvind Kejriwal had visited his residence to meet and console family members and had also announced that an amount of Rs. one crore would be given to his family but so far that amount has not been paid to his family members.
