NUSRAT HUSAIN, an NRI, a former student of Jamia Millia Islamia and a member of ASCE, USA has been appointed Honorory Consul General for India in Labourland, a very small new country created only recently between countries Croatia and Serbia in Europe. His appointment as Consul General for India is by the President of Labourland. After meeting union home minister Raj Nath Singh and foreign minister Mrs. Sushma Swaraj he will take necessary steps in setting up the ambassadorial office. It may be stated that Labourland, probably the newest country in the world, is the third smallest country of the world with a population of only 4 or 5 lakh and a total area of only about 7 sq kilometres, roughly equal to Delhi’s Karol Bagh locality.
Dr. (Ms) ZARNIGAR YAMEEN, Urdu litterateur, researcher, critic and presently a teacher in Patna University, authoress of three researched books and two other books based on literary critical articles has been appointed, with the unanimous decision of Germany’s Sharif Academy’s Board of Directors, Director of Sharif Academy’s Bihar Branch. A Gold Medalist in MA who got Doctorate Degree from Patna University, after which she became a teacher in the same (Patna) University. Basically a research scholar, she is also associated with Doordarshan and Aakashvani an regularly takes part in their programmes.
Bollywood film star SHAHRUKH KHAN also called King Khan and AKSHAY KUMAR, according to American magazine Forbes, are among the 100 personalities of the world who have earned maximum incomes during the year 2015-16. According to this magazine, with an income of 30.3 million Dollars (3 crore, 30 lakh dollars) in this year, Shah Rukh’s rank in this list of Forbes is No. 86 while that of Akshay Kumar, with an income of 30.015 million (3 crore, 15 lakh) Dollar during this year is at No. 94. According to this magazine, Shah Rukh in addition to this income from films also earns a lot from dozens of highly paid advertisements. The maximum income earned in the world in this year, according to Forbes, is by the American Singer Ms. Tailor Swift who, with an income of 170 million Dollars, stands at No 1 in this list.
AMU appointments: Prof MUHAMMAD KHALID has been appointed new Head (chairman) of JN Medical College of AMU’s Department of Radio Diagnosis for 3 years in place of former chairman Prof. Ibn Ahmad. Prof. SYED NASIR ASKARI has been appointed Chairman of JN Medical College’s Department of Ophthalmology for 3 years in place of Prof. Humayun Ashraf. Prof. (Mrs) IFFAT AARA, senior teacher of English in AMU’s Women’s College has been appointed new Dean of the Faculty of Arts till 5 June 2017 in place of Prof. S. Kafeel Qasmi
R. K. YADAV, a retired police officer (ACP) of Delhi, has been appointed Vigilance Officer by Waqf Board in a team of 4 members for legal and police help for getting Waqf land and properties vacated by illegal occupants by filing FIRs. Waqf Board thinks that through R. K. Yadav who is well conversant with different sections of Indian Penal Code it will be easier and helpful in filing FIRs against illegal occupants and misusers of Waqf properties.
MUHAMMAD JASIMUDDIN, a research scholar of Delhi University’s Department of Arabic was conferred PhD Degree by Delhi University for his research work in Urdu.
