Ludhiana:  A protest meeting was held at the Jama Masjid here on 23 July in which Shahi Imam of Punjab, Maulana Habibur-Rahman Sani and dozens of  imams and political leaders of the Muslim community belonging to various parties participated. They were protesting against attacks on Muslim truck drivers in the state and stone-pelting at Muslim worshipers in Phagwara. Maulana Habibur-Rahman announced during the meeting that if Punjab government didn't take strict measures to stop these attacks, similar protests would be held at 100 places in the state after a week.
