Prof. M. H. BAIG, Head of Cardio-Thorasic Surgery Department of AMU’s JN Medical College has been honoured by Chennai’s Venice International Foundation with Lifetime Achievement Award in recognition of his valuable services in the field of Cardio Thorasic and Vascular Surgery. As Award he was given a Medal and Commendation Certificate. He is the first doctor of JN Medical College’s Cardio Thorasic Surgery Department of AMU to be honoured with this Award. In addition to rendering valuable services in this capacity for 40 years he also introduced many successful clinical governance programes. He is also the life member of different medical scientific associations. He has represented AMU and JN Medical College in many national and international conferences.
AMU’s NSS UNIT has won First Prize in Government of India’s ministry of youth programme and sports’ National Young Leaders Programme for the year 2015-16. By way of First Prize the NSS Unit was given a cheque of Rs. 65000 and a Commendation Certificate. According to NSS programme Coordinator, Dr. Muhammad Yameen, under the requirements of youth programme and sports ministry NSS volunteers have to do social work for 120 hours in a year and also do shramdaan (voluntary work) of 100 hours in a year and in this AMU’s NSS Unit excelled other units and hence won the First Prize.
Bihar Urdu Academy under its new programme Academy aap tak honoured three senior (aged) and forgotten men of letters of Muzaffarpur district viz. Prof. NAMUL HODA, Prof. NAAZ QADIRI (Urdu) and Prof. KHURSHID SAMI’, former professor of Chemistry in Muzaffarpur Engineering College, with Awards for rendering selfless service to Urdu with a view to honouring and encouraging them.
