Maulana Mahmood Madni’s letter to Tihar Jail’s DG

New Delhi: Jamiatul Ulama-e Hind (JUH)’s general secretary Maulana Mahmood Madni in a letter to the Director General of Tihar Jail asked for a list of all those prisoners who, though have completed their tenure of sentences  but are still rotting in the jail because of their inability to pay the fines imposed on them in addition to sentences. Maulana Javed Qasmi met the DG in his office in Tihar Jail on behalf of Maulana Madni and handed over his (Maulana Madni)’s letter to him. The DG of Tihar Jail, Sudhir Yadav, while expressing his happiness over Maulana Madni’s letter, assured that a list of such prisoners will soon be prepared and sent to Maulana Madni. The purpose of Maulana Madni’s letter to Tihar Jail’s DG asking for the list of these prisoners is to pay the amount of fines on behalf of such prisoners so that they may be freed and lead a free life. Secretary of JUH, Maulana Hakimudidon Qasmi said in this connection that Jamiatul Ulama-e Hind is not only providing free legal assistance to those innocent people who have wrongly been arrested for terrorist and other such activities but is also paying fines on behalf of poor prisoners so that they could be freed at the e1rliest and lead a free life.
