Dr. MUHAMMAD MA’ROOF KHAN, Principal of Dr. Zakir Husain Memorial Sr. Sec. School, Ja’ffarabad (Trans Yamuna area) has been honoured with ‘Golden Peak Award’ by the Institution for Environment, Yoga and Social Security in recognition of his distinguished services in the field of education, sports and social welfare. This Award was given to him at a function held in India International Centre on 4 September. At another function held by the International Institute of Hotel Management in connection with Teachers Day on 5 September in which 30 teachers from all over the country were invited, including 5 Muslim teachers namely Mrs. Amina Ahmad, Parvez Ahmad, Muhammad Aiyub, Mrs. Shadab Naeem and Firoz Bakht, were honoured with awards consisting of Shields and other gifts.
On the occasion of Teachers Day celebrated every year in India on 5 September (Birth Day of Dr. S. Radhakrishnan who started his professional career as a teacher and rose to become an eminent philosopher, educationist and the President of India), more than 300 teachers from all over the country were honoured with awards in recognition of their services in teaching and education of students. Among them some of the following Muslim teachers (men as well women) were honoured with awards: Dr. (Mrs) QUDSIA ANJUM (Alig), (Presidential Award), Saharanpur honoured with State Teacher Award (Rs. 10,000, medal, certificate),Mrs. SHADAB QAMAR, Principal, Govt Middle School, Vaishali (Presidential Award), Ms. TATHEER FATEMA, Head Mistress of Chhapra’s Primary School; SHAMIM MURTAZA FAROOQI, Principal of Islamia Inter College, Deoband etc.
Dr. MUHAMMAD SARFARAZ HUSAIN, President of Managing Committee of Muradabad’ Primary School and Talha Rasool, Teacher were honoured with awards by UP government for good and efficient use of governemnt funds for improving the condition of schools, efficient teaching procedures and exam results etc. The award consisted of Rs. 1,20,00 (cheque) and a certificate each of ‘Adarsh School’ (Ideal School).
MUHAMMAD ARIF IQBAL, author and biographer who recently compiled the second book on the life and services of former general secretary of All India Muslim Personal Law Board and former Ameer-e Shariat Sadis of Amarat-e Sharaiyya of Bihar, Orissa and Jharkhand, Maulana Syed Nizamuddin titled Ameer-e Shari’at Sadis, Noqoosh wa Ta’asuraat has been honoured by Markazi Jamiatul Ulama with ‘Allama Shibli No’mani Award’ and a commendation certificate.
Shooter FAREED ALI, by scoring 532 points in the on-going 32nd Delhi State Shooting Championshop’s 50 metres’ 22 Free Pistol Event won Gold Medal. ARPIT GOEL and TRIBHUVAN by scoring 524 points and 518 points won Silver and Bronze Medal respectively.
