Jamia Hamdard secures PURSE grant

New Delhi: Jamia Hamdard University has received PURSE (Promotion of University Research & Scientific Excellence) grant of Department of Science and Technology, Govt of India in 2016 for the first time as an incentive award scheme for promotion of research in science and technology started by government of India in 2008. Under this scheme Jamia Hamdard will get an amount of Rs. 10.25 crores for a priod of 4 years. PURSE is based on independent evaluation of scientific publications in the University sector. So far 44 universities have been identified under PURSE grant scheme of the Department Science & Technology, govt of India. Jamia Hamdard is one of the 29 universities which have been identified for this grant, based on the number of publications as well as quality of publications of research in the field of science and technology.
