We are with Muslims and Muslims are with us: Marathas

Mumbai: Maulana Azad Vichar Manch held a meeting on the topic of ‘Ek hi mission, Muslim Reservation’ in Mumbai’s Haj House on 3 October. Speaking in this meeting, Shrimant Shivajji Kokate, spokesman of Maratha Seva Sangh said that the greatest danger to the country is from RSS and Barahmanwaad. He said that though Hindus form 75 percent of the country’s population, efforts are on to frighten them by the bogey of Muslims who are only 15 percent. We should understand that the real danger to the country is from RSS and Brahmans who (Brahmans) are only 3.5 percent but in spite of this we are victims of their conspiracy. He said that we should understand that we are being exploited under an organised plan against which we need to protect ourselves. According to him RSS is, truly speaking, Rashtriya Shadyantra (conspiracy) Sangh which is the countrys’ biggest terrorist organisation which itself had organised bomb blasts in Malegaon, Ajmer, Nanded, Prabhni, Panvel, Thane etc. This organisation wants to rule by dividing and disintegrating us and hence under such circumstances we need to be united. In addition to RSS and Brahmans he also targeted Shiv Sena and MNS chiefs Udhav Thackeray and Raj Thackeray and said that both these leaders are not Marathas themselves but are Kayesth. We will tell them their real standing and position. He said that we have made them feel our strength and that is why, seeing the critical circumstanes and expediency they have also apologised to us otherwise Shiv Sena has never apologised to anybody so far. He said that we object to his statement about reservation and he (Raj Thackeray) needs to study history. He also said that Indian Muslims have not come from outside. They were, and are, part of this country whereas Aryans had come to India from outside. Ms. Sushila Tai, social worker, said while speaking on this occasion that we are prepared to offer strong support to Muslim reservation provided they also should come out for this objective with the same intensity. Strong and dynamic campaign for this will have to be started in Muslim localities, lanes and streets and then only success can be achieved in this objective. Maratha Sena member Prakash Bhonsle said that we have got support of Muslims in Maratha reservation movement hence we too are ready to support their reservation in all ways. Many other Maratha reservation and Muslim leaders also spoke on the same lines in this meeting. Maulana Mustaqeem Azmi of Jamiatul Ulama of Mumbai said that Muslims are backward educationally, economically and socially but even then they are being ignored. Hence we too, like Marathas and dalits should raise our voice srongly and fight for our rights. Rajya Sabha member and President of Maulana Azad Vichar Manch Husain Dalwai said that this is not a political but social movement and all organisations and associations taking part in this campaign should work with the feeling that ‘we are for them and they are for us’. He also offered full support and cooperation of Muslims to the Maratha movement.
