B. MUHAMMAD JAMAL, CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of Kerala Waqf Board has been appointed CEO and secretary of Central Waqf Council, New Delhi in place of Ali Ahmad Khan whose term had expired about two months ago. After taking over the charge of CEO/secretary of Central Waqf Council he said that computerisation of Waqf lands is very essential which, though a ticklish problem, will be done at the earliest as has been done in Kerala.
Col. MANSOOR ALI KHAN has been appointed whole-time Administrator/Manager of Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti’s Dargah at Ajmer. After taking over as Administrator/Manager of the Dargah on 17 October Col. Mansoor Khan said that development of the Dargah and making proper facilities for the devotees and pilgrims visiting this Dargah will be his priority.
MAULANA ABDULLAH MOGHISI, and Dr. MUHAMMAD MANZOOR ALAM have been re-elected President and General Secretary respectively of All India Milli Council for 3 years at the 18th annual conference of the Milli Council held at Bhopal’s Hotel Imperial on 31 October.
Mrs. ZAHEER FATEMA, wife of former Chairman of Deoband Municipal Corporation Mo’avia Ali who left this post after being elected an MLA in UP has been elected new Chairperson of Deoband Municipal Corporation in the by-election for this post by defeating her rival Ziauddin Ansari by more than 1300 votes. After her election as Chairperson of Deoband Municipal Corpn she said that in addition to the continuation of the good developmental work done by her predecessor, her priority will be to develop this historical and religious town (Deoband) as a tourist town.
Twelve-year old, 7th class girl of Mumbai, MARYAM who secured First position in the national level competition on Gita sponsored by SKCONS (Shri Krishna Conscious Society) last year (2015) after which she was nicknamed Gita Girl and who is also the Brand Ambassador of UP Police’s Child Wing Goodwill Mission added another feather to her cap when she became Hafiz-e Qur’an. She says that spreading the message of Gita and the Qur’an of peace and humanism all over the world and conducting social programmes is her mission, adding that she wants to tell the people wherever war and bloodshed is taking place that messages of Gita and Qur’an show the path of righteousness to every body and spreading this message is her mission. 
FLOWR AFSANA CHAAND, a student of BA Semester 3rd of Govt. Degree College, Thannamandi won First Prize in the Inter College Debate on the topic of ‘Life and Vision of Sir Syed Ahmad Khan’ held in Govt P.G. College, Rajouri.
Prof. ZULFIA KHAN, head of the Department of Community Medicine of AMU’s JN Medical College has been honoured with Lifetime Achievement Award by Indian Association of Preventive and Social Medicine, UP and Uttarakhand Chapter at a function held at SRM Smarak Institute of Medical Sciences, Bareilly on 3 November. Associated with Community Medicine Department for about 35 years, she was also the coordinator of Polio Programme run by AMU and UNICEF and honoured with many awards by UNICEF and Rotary International.
Dr. DANISH SUHAIL, presently a student of Amsterd am’s Royal Tropical Institute’s MIH (Master in International Health) and who has got a BDS Degree from AMU’s Dental College has been invited by WHO’s Headquarters at Geneva as an International Youth Delgate where he expressed his views on India’s present medical problems and requested for more cooperation by WHO in it. As secretary of ‘Soach (thinking or thought) Beyond Imgination’, an organisation of AMU Students, he said that an agreement between ‘Sooch’ and WHO will be entered into soon under which programmes for medical benefits for the common people will be started.
