Awards for Reyaz, Ammar, Farrukh, Mahboob, Anwar, Prabhat, Najm, Jalal

Dr REYAZ AHMAD, a lecturer in AMU’s Department of Zoology and Dr AMMAR Ibn ANWAR, lecturer in AMU’s Department of Health of Faculty of Unani Medicine have been honoured with Shiksha Ratn Award by India International Friendship Society, Delhi. The Award to Dr Reyaz Ahmad is in recognition of his valuable services in the field of Biochemical and Clinical Genetics whereas the Award to Dr Ammar Ibn Anwar is given in recognition of valuable series in the field of Unani medicines and public health. Both have also been honoured with many national and international honours, fellowships and awards. The Awards were given to them by Pondicherry’s Lt Governor Dr S Iqbal Singh at a function held in Delhi’s Constitution Club. According to subsequent news, in addition to the above mentioned two lecturers of AMU, three other teaching staff of AMU namely Ms FARRUKH ARJUMAND, Reader in AMU’s Department of Chemistry who is working on anti-cancer drug, Dr MAHBOOB ANWAR KHAN, Reader in Civil Engg Department who has done important research work in the field of geo-technical engineering and Prof PRABHAT KUMAR, a senior teacher and former President of Electrical Engineering Department have also been honoured with Shiksha Ratan Award by India International Friendship Society. All of them were honoured at the Constitution Club function.
 
Dr NAJM KHALEEQ, a Professor in Community Medicines Department of AMU’s JN Medical College and Superintendent of the Medical College Hospital, has been honoured with ‘Dr S Radhakrishnan Smriti Rashtriya Shikshak Samman’ (Award) in recognition of his valuable services in the field of medical education. The Award, consisting of a Commendation Certificate, Memento and a Shawl and jointly sponsored by All India Freelance Journalists & Writers Association and National Child & Women’s Development Charitable Trust, was given to him by Delhi Assembly Speaker Yoganand Shastri at a function held at Delhi’s Constitution Club in connection with (late) Dr S Radhakrishnan’s birth anniversary which is observed by Indian government as ‘Teachers Day’.
 
Prof of English JALAL UMAR of JV Jain Inter College and an active member of Career Counselling Board has been selected by Lions Club Central for being honoured with its Award which consists of a Commendation Certificate, Memento and a Shawl. The Award is in recognition of his valuable services in the field of teaching and was given to him on the occasion of Teachers Day.
