Prof. TAHIR MAHMOOD, former Chairman of National Commission on Minorities (NCM) and a former Member of Indian Law Commission had been selected to represent India in the 3-day International Conference on ‘Religion, Peace and Security’ sponsored by United Nations through its different agencies and held in Geneva (Switzerland) from 22 November. Prof. Tahir Mahmood is a noted intellectual on national and international law and has written many books on religion, law and and possible relevance between the two.
Dr. NASEER HASAN, Asociate Professor in Government Degree College, Rudholi (Basti) has been appointed Wholetime or Full time CEO (Chief Executive Officer) of UP Shi’a Central Waqf Board by UP government in place of Muhammad Tariq. A notification to this effect has been issued by Prakash Singh, secretary of the Department of Waqf and Minorities Welfare.
HAFIZ TAHSEEN AHMAD has been appointed Vice Chairman of Punjab Minorities Commission by Punjab government with the rank of minister of state.
