Dr Khan delivers extension lecture at Jamia on Research Methodology

Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, editor The Milli Gazette, delivered an extension lecture on 8 March at the Jamia Millia Islamia. Organised by the Department of Islamic Studies, the lecture was on the methodology of research in Islamic studies. The well-attended lecture lasted for over an hour and was followed by a lively discussion of issues and problems of research in Islamic studies. Dr. Khan’s book “Usul-e-Tahqiq” is prescribed in colleges.

Yesterday, 7 March, Dr Khan chaired a seminar on post-World War II Arabic fiction where scholars of JMI presented papers about various aspects of Arabic fiction and fiction-writers. In his presidential address, Dr Khan spoke about Arabic fiction since its inception in the 19th century to this day and said that Arabic fiction today has attained an international stature.

Earlier, on 4 March, Dr Khan delivered a lecture in Bangalore. Organised by the Quran Study Circle, the lecture was on "Types of Muslims today: lax, extremist and moderate". It was well-attended by intellectuals, especially by professionals who are working in various IT companies in the capital of Karnataka.
