Er Saleem hounored

Bhaichara Foundation, a Jaipur-based social organisation, headed by well-known litterateur, poet and social activist Mr. Ved Vyas, observed Bhaichara Divas (Brotherhood Day) at the Pink City Press Club here on 20 July. The ceremony was presided over by Uttar Pradesh Governor B. L. Joshi, while Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot was the chief guest. National Advisory Council member and Megsayay Award winner Mrs. Aruna Roy and Justice V.S. Dave (Retired Judge of Rajasthan High Court) were among the special guests.

Sixteen social activists including ex-state president and central secretary of Jamaat-E-Islami Hind Engineer Saleem, Sarvodaya leader Sawai Singh, lawyer Marudhar Mridul, social activists Ashok Acharya, Durga Shankar Gehlot and Himmat Seth were honoured with “Bhaichara awards” on the occasion. The first copy of a weekly, Lok Yatra with Mr. Vichar Vyas, son of Mr. Ved Vyas, as its editor, was released by Mr. Ashok Gehlot.
