Appointment of Urdu medium teachers in Delhi

Urdu medium teachers of mathematics, science and social sciences

New Delhi: Delhi state’s education minister Arvind Singh Lovely said in reply to MLA Shoaib Iqbal’s question in the assembly that we want to appoint Urdu medium teachers but we do not get trained teachers. Anjuman Taraqqi-e-Urdu (ATU) after two months efforts submitted a list of about 400 Urdu teachers to Lovely. After having a glance over this list he said that we want teachers who can teach mathematics, science and social sciences through Urdu medium. The Anjuman after some time submitted a list of about 200 such Urdu medium trained teachers to him. Different delegations of ATU met Chief Minister Shiela Dikshit, Lovely and Justice Suhail Ejaz Siddiqi. The minister and chief minister forwarded all these applications of trained candidates to Delhi Urdu Academy with the instruction that 126 Urdu medium teachers may be selected and appointed at the earliest. The Academy informed ATU that after selecting the teachers in accordance with the prescribed rules, the process of appointing Urdu medium teachers will be started soon.
