Iftar Party at Islamic Relief and Research Trust

Srinagar: An Iftar party was held here by Islamic Relief and Research Trust(IRRT) at is Head Office, Lal Mandi, Srianagr on 20 August, 2011. The party was attended by a special guest from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, Dr Omer Hasan K Kasule who is an scholar of international repute in medical ethics and epidemiology who was visiting the valley alongwith his family.

A galaxy of scholars, activists, philanthropists and journalists were present on the occasion. Patron IRRT, AR Hanjura, spoke about the social problems baffling Kashmiri society which include ever-increasing numbers of widows and orphans and the challenges which they pose to the whole society which is ill-equipped to counter the challenges.

Dr Omar Hasan K Kasule emphasized the need for undertaking more such social programmes of the kind undertaken by IRRT and advised that there must be expansion of such work which is the dire need of the hour.

This Iftar party was in continuation of a previous Iftar party held at Darul Ehsan, home for special children run by IRRT at Kralapora on 11 August, 2011, where Iftar party was held as a mark of sharing of love with the children as well as to sensitize the locality about the dire need of taking care of the special children.
