AFMI awards for Indian Muslim students on 25 Dec in Ahmedabad

M.P. Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi to receive Sir Syed Award

FARMINGTON, USA (Dec. 13, 2010): The American Federation of Muslims of Indian Origin’s XIX International Convention on Education and Gala Award Program will be inaugurated on 25th December, 2010 in Ahmedabad by Dr. Kamla Benival, the Governor of Gujarat. The two day convention will be held at the Tagore Hall and will feature a number of dignitaries from across India, USA, Canada, and elsewhere. The highlight of the convention will be the gold, silver, and bronze medals to Muslim toppers of X and XII board exams from each state of India [on the basis of applications received].

India’s Union Minister of law and Justice Mr. Veerappa Moily will deliver a key note address at the event.

Maulana Asrarul Haque Qasmi, noted educationist and Member of Parliament, will receive AFMI’s prestigious Sir Syed Award for his contributions to the education of Indian Muslims.

Justice Dr Rajinder Sachar, Dr. Juzer Bandukwala, Prof. V. Tripathy ((IIT) and of Sadbhav Mission-Delhi), Dr. Zafar Mehmood (Zakat Foundation), Mr. Aslam Fakih (educationist), Mrs. Ruchira Ghosh (British Council), Mr. A. Kareem Gheewala (Indian Muslim Association, UK), and a host of other educationists, social activists, & community leaders will address the gathering.
